I buy from Mid-America, Ecklers, Corvette Central, Year One, Zip and Corvette America. They all seem to have good product. I usually shop the best price amoung all of them.
I've bought a few things from them with no problems at all. Even found an AIM on ebay that they listed that was a little cheaper than their web site. Good guys.IMHO

There is always somebody who has a negative attitude. Well, this time it's me.
Last time I purchased from MA I got cheap imported Made In China garbage that broke within months and they wouldn't take back. Specifically Headlight switches, Headlight Vacuum actuators, suspension bushings and other parts which in some case took hours to replace. The suspension bushings, in this case rear strut rods, just fell apart.
The little gold "MADE IN CHINA" was all over it some of it. So maybe that's why they can sell a little cheaper then others.
I'm sick of spending hard earned money and effort on crap parts with labels stating once opened non-returnable and having them fail before you know it.
My .02. Your mileage may vary. But also note that MA is not the only one selling junk these days.

You could say the same thing about other vendors. All vendors sell items made in China. Most specify a return process. How can any seller take back items that you had installed for a while? For all they know, the car might have been autocrossed for a few races. I don't doubt your claims, but I wouldn't hold a seller to blame for not wanting to return installed items. I wouldn't take them back either if I were in their shoes.

It's kinda hard to kill a Vacuum actuator autocrossing. And I did say MA is not the only one. The return process is if you install it, don't return it. They are all getting tighter on that.
I just think as a whole the industry has gone down the tubes. I was buying literally thousands of dollars of parts on an annual basis from a number of Vendors when I was doing it fulltime as a business. When you have to eat the labor because the parts failed. After a while you get a little soured on it. I stopped buying from MA for that reason. I'm not just talking a few isolated parts.
While I don't purchase as much from Mid America as I once did, I think something that should be said for the benefit of some of the new folks to the hobby is that Mike Yager has done as much for the Corvette hobby since starting Mid America Motorworks in the 70's as anybody I know. While the Corvette hobby has many heroes, Mike is certainly high on the list. I for one appreciate everything he has done and continues to do, to keep this hobby alive and well.
The fact that he is able to prosper while living a dream is simply icing on the cake.
I would like to thank you on behalf of Mid America Motorworks and Mike Yager. We appreciate your business and plan to be around for another 35+ years.
I can personally say that Mike is such an inspiring person to work for. He always has "the open door" policy for EVERYONE and if you have had the fortune of meeting him in person that IS the real Mike Yager. He acts the same around customers as he does with his own family.
...I stopped buying from Mid America went they went to handling VW & Porsche parts. Felt like I was buying from JC Whitney after that. I just use Bair's, Zip's, Eckler's or Corvette Central now, but then that's me and my opinion.

This is an important consideration, IMHO, and applies to some extent to many of the supporting vendors on this board. I shop around, certainly, and when I can save real money I always do but when it comes down to a few bucks I'm trying to do business with forum sponsors because--without going overboard--i feel the info on the forum has saved me countless hours and dollars
I've bought something from just about every vendor at some point. I usually go by price so whoever has the best price has my business for that particular part. Last thing I got was a set of floormats for the 75 with the embroidered logo and they are fabulous. Going to get another set for the 78. they were the only ones that carried the embroidered logo.
The fact of the matter is that most everything made now is imported, there's not much that we can do about it. Yeah, quality may go downhill but if a vendor is willing to stand by it for a period of time, then that adds some clout in future decision making for me.
I tend to look at return policies when I buy. Sometimes I buy stuff but don't get to install it until 6 months or later. Maybe I shouldn't do that but sometimes it takes longer to do stuff than I figure. A couple places offer a 1 year return - another place I think offers a forever return - and another place offers a 30 day return.
