Default Sound - headers?

I have a 350 engine, factory rate 195 HP, previous owner states mild cam and some head work done, he estimated at 240HP but who knows...has nice sound for close to stock...auto trans...

Thoughts, if I put headers on it will it give a nice throaty sound?

I want it to sound greeeeeat!

How much louder?

Got a link to cheap headers?

Are they an easy install for a shop or crazy modifications needed?

Thanks,

K.O.

Summit racing has a pretty good selection of headers starting at $89.00

Sounds like the mods have already started. If you go for it save all the original parts you never know. Does your car have AC? If so you will need AC brackets and in some applications an alternator bracket. Upside to headers more HP and better fuel mileage (if you can keep your foot out of it) and that sound….. That sound of power. The down side is they put off a lot of heat .
Good luck

No A/C

I don't mind a bit more heat, that's alright...

Am I guaranteed a much louder/throatier sound even from the $89 SUmmit headers noted above?

The mufflers you use will make a difference in the sound. Anywhere from a rumble to rolling thunder.

Has "newer" mufflers on it, previous owner's receipts show them as "turbo mufflers" whatever that means...has a nice sound now but want it louder/throatier...

Hey Kevin,
Do you know what size of pipes your are running? If you go with the headers and want more sound you may want 2 ½ inch exhaust pipes if you do not already have them.
