nutsy, contact A1sensei. I've read good things about his rebuilds.

As far as cost, IIRC, when Lars did mine he charged $150 plus parts give or take for how bad the carb was to start with.

I've heard things about Sean Murphy Induction in SoCal. I've talked to him at a few meets, seem like a real nice guy.

Hobbs Carburetor Shop
20 Windham Rd.
Pelham, NH 603-635-2415

Had my 69 stock 4 barrell rebuilt once in the late 70's and again last Spring. I was very pleased each time. Thats all they do. Cost me about $100. People send him carbs from all over.

UNFORTUNATLY LARS is not doing any more work but i did shoot him a email hoping to get lucky. i know hes the best. i just pulled carb off. when taking the bolts off that hold carb on they were very loose. hope tightening them down wasnt all i had to do since its off. i dont want to put it back on only to find out its gotta come back off. also the rubber spacer between manifold and carb is very hard. shouldnt it be kinda soft?

Alternatively, he offers the kits and has written the book for you to do it yourself. Not hard, very interesting, and solid perfomance boost. He'll gladly chat with you about your unit and your alternatives.

So, I believe you have enough input to make a decision. All suggestions are probably very good and I bet you have someone who can do the job in your own backyard (Local). Go with a shop that you know has great ratings and preferably recomended by someone who has delt with them. Time to move on from this post.
