anyone know where i can send my quadra jet to get rebuilt? someone who is good with them. its not the original but needs rebuild. also what does this usually cost? thanks, nutsy.
Had my 69 stock 4 barrell rebuilt once in the late 70's and again last Spring. I was very pleased each time. Thats all they do. Cost me about $100. People send him carbs from all over.

thanks, ill give em a call. after getting a carb back i take it it has to be adjusted right?
UNFORTUNATLY LARS is not doing any more work but i did shoot him a email hoping to get lucky. i know hes the best. i just pulled carb off. when taking the bolts off that hold carb on they were very loose. hope tightening them down wasnt all i had to do since its off. i dont want to put it back on only to find out its gotta come back off. also the rubber spacer between manifold and carb is very hard. shouldnt it be kinda soft?
Bingo...stop your search. Call Cliff and set up the rebuild. Carbs are rebuilt to work with your current set-up, so no adjustment needed after rebuild. Cost for him to do the job is pricey (>$400) but his experience is vast.
Alternatively, he offers the kits and has written the book for you to do it yourself. Not hard, very interesting, and solid perfomance boost. He'll gladly chat with you about your unit and your alternatives.
So, I believe you have enough input to make a decision. All suggestions are probably very good and I bet you have someone who can do the job in your own backyard (Local). Go with a shop that you know has great ratings and preferably recomended by someone who has delt with them. Time to move on from this post.
