Default newbie question

Where is the high beam switch located on a '69 BB vert? When I pull the headlight switch out, 1/2 way out turns on the interior lights, and when I pull it out all the way, the headlights pop open, and all four lights are on (the "brights" indicator is on). How can I turn on the headlights without having the brights on? Thanks.

It's under a pedal which is under the carpet on the floor to the left of the clutch. Just step on the carpet with your toe up under the dash.

Uriah: purchase an owner's manual. Lots of useful information in the owner's manual.

haha,
When I showed my daughter where the switch was she was amazed to know that in the "old days" you had to step on the switch to dim the lights.

Lol for the first month or two of owning my 'vette, I had the same problem. My dad hopped in the car, and he had no problem whatsoever- I was amazed.
Its kind of annoying sometimes though, cuz I like to put my foot there and I'll accidentally step on it.

I find it interesting that in 68 and most of 69 there was NO dimmer pad sewn on the carpet. So unless you looked at the owner's manual for help it was a bit of a hunt to find the switch with your left toe.
Regards,
Alan

I rarely drive mine at night because the headlights are so bad, but I find I am frequently clicking the brights on and off because the location is right where I want to rest my foot.

Seems like it would be easy to find the switch by accident.
