Glad to say after 11 months of hard work and an additional $17K, the car finally made it back on the road today. To think it all started with a broken clutch. The rebuilt engine with the new Allen's 2-1/2" side exhaust sounds way better than ever and the rebuilt transmission and shifter are smooth as silk. The rebuilt brake system is still a little spongy...must be some air bubbles in the DOT 5...and the rebuilt power steering system doesn't work at all! Either air in the system or I screwed something up. Can't put the ignition shield cover on because the correct repro coil from GM restoration parts is a little too tall and causes the ignition to short out. New clutch, new shocks, new front ball joints and bushings, new u-joints all around, Dewitts aluminum radiator stays at 185...I feel like I'm driving a new car. Still have the trailing arms, differential, spring, rear sway bar and gas tank to deal with. Maybe later this year, after I find a way to make some more money. When I get it up on the rack, I'll take some pictures of the underside.
Whats the fiberglas matting at the front of the hood?. don't think I've seen that before.
Insulation from Paragon. Just replaced what was there originally from the factory. It has a black weave backing and I just might have put it on upside down.
Car looks most excellent and I bet your glad to be driving it again.

Really missed driving it the last year, but the performance was getting worse. These quadrajets can be deceiving...they make that big sucking sound when the secondaries open and you just might not be going anywhere fast. Now that the engine is rebuilt (408 hp and 500 ft-lbs on the engine dyno) I can really feel the difference. Today, just for grins I stomped it in first gear and completely broke the P235-60s loose without the clutch. Freaked me out!:
