Easiest and quickest way is to buy a can of chrome spray paint at Wal Mart. Seriously, it would be extremely expensive and not practable at all. Keep the car as is and enjoy it for what it is. When as the last time someone said to you they would not have your corvette because it does not have chrome bumper?
Hi mpm,
The problem BEYOND the work and $$$$$ is that you'd have a car that was worth less than when you began.
Sell your 76 and buy a 68-72, you'll come out FAR ahead.

Alan
A member here "SUPERPOWERS" has done it. There is a very long thread with lots of pictures at "another" Corvette forum. As stated before a tremendous amount of work and time as well as not inexpensive. Like Alan suggested if you really want a chrome bumper car buy one.
This must be a common newbie question...since it seems to come up every few months or so. Even I (bowed head and blushing) had this very same question when I got my first Vette (78) over 10 years ago. After hearing what people had to say, and really looking into the headaches that would accompany this type of conversion, I did NOT pursue that avenue....thankfully. I am all for custom cars, mods, and such.....but this is one that I have to say should be avoided. I don't know if I would quite equate it to the "silk purse from a sow's ear"...but you get the idea. Since there are plenty of chrome bumpered cars out there, get one.....or just learn to enjoy the one you have. You will undoubtedly dump WAY more money into this swap than what it's worth, and if you ever hope to sell it down the road....every savvy Corvette owner will cut a wide swath around your car since it's been cut up and changed. MOST mods of this caliber tend to be hack-jobs...and not well executed. IMO....and again, this is just me......you will create a bastard child that will never be the same. Just my .02.

....and it would be ugly, and on one would want to buy it when you're tired of it.
