Correct Timing Cover
I have a 64 Roadster. When I bought it, the engine was a composite of parts, 67 327 block, 1970 LT-1 manifod, 61 Corvette HP heads.
I have been collecting parts for a while to convert to 365 HP. I have the right heads, machined, hardened inserts and new valve guides, new SS valves, new springs, new 1965 350 HP CAM (no i don't want to adjust the valves), correct intake, 2818 carb, etc...
This engine had a 6 3/4 harmonic balancer and the timing cover has a welded adjustment tab. I believe this is supposed to be 8" on the 365 HP engine? Does anyone have a picture of the correct timing cover for an 8"? Does the 8" have a welded tab on it? I have found a number of new aftermarket covers. Does the correct cover have three stamped indents in the top or just one big flat one with a small rectangular one next to it? I will probably opt for replacement 8" balancer rather than the correct finned one (due to budget constraints).
