Just use your imagination and you could put some doors in the sides of those fender extensions and convert them to tool boxes and build a set of roof racks for your ladders and you could use it for painting houses.

I still think this car could look bad-*** with a really nice paint job on it. And if you have the HP to back up the looks, I really don't think anyone would say squat about it at the local watering hole!

Side tool boxes??? Yeahhhh.......not so much.

I built a wide body on an 81 it was a very cool car, I mixed Daytona and turbo pieces so for off the shelf custom parts it was one of a kind it went overseas to a collector but this threads car is NOT one of a kind...it is very off the shelf....wide bodies are still very popular at shows and with people into the racer on the street look,

One of the hottest wide bodies I ever saw was built on a 71 convertible and kept the chrome bumpers front and rear,

Yes indeed, times change. I view that car as worthless now. I hope all the "excitement" in the 70's was worth it.

I think it looks like butt. Even if it was painted I would still think it looks like Butt. Sitting all those years you can bet every wide panel is cracked and ready to fall off. If not I would be surprised.

Welcome to the Corvetteforum.com
You will see this all the time here... a big pass time is to bash and trash any mod or custom just because it's modded and just because the last fellow bashed it...it gets way old and way boring....to see how many lemmings can say "buttfugly" and or post the little puke face....every modded car isn't cool and sweet but every modded car isn't junk and or ugly either....like I say if we all liked the same thing it would get way dull,

The irony is at a show or cruise the modded cars are the ones people flock to..stock collect dust and cobwebs unless of course it's the NCRS meet...could be some bashing stems from sour grapes.

As far as this threads wide body...it's overpriced...not the cars fault...it's been allowed to get all ragged out...not the cars fault...wanna trash and bash something bash the dolt who treated the car this way....
