Postage doubles the cost of everything for us international guys.. sometimes triples. You guys get off easy so don't complain!

My car owes me $40k and it looks like this (only minus doors and the rest of the paint and more parts are stripped):
Just hang in there. My 70 that I'm working on has a cylinder block bought in 1990. The heads were bought in 1992. I just keep working on it over the years. Through out the latter 1990's and early 2000's, I didn't have money to work on the car. I've been slowly buying things for it. Getting a little close to finishing. I know the import duties in Australia are crippling. I lived there for 9 years (Adelaide). I don't know why they have to really hammer guys restoring cars. It's not really going to effect the Australian balance of trade ratios and it's not going to really take jobs away from Australians.

Good on yah mate,

You think one is bad, try multiples.

I have 4 C3's in some stage of restoration and a C5 convertible. I have to concentrate on one car at a time, or I go nuts. Right now, the 72 big block is getting her share of love (STS baffles, EZ-EFI, HD 3.73 rear diff, Dragvette rear suspension, some 69 side vents, a front spoiler, a rear filler panel, and the rest of the Baldwin Motion stripe). The 82 crossfire is in the paint shop getting the front end repainted, then new carpet and seats. The 71 convertible and 73 coupe are resting peacefully in storage. The 71 needs a carb, carpet, new door panels, seat covers, a soft top, complete vacuum system, and a fresh paint job. The 73 just got a new paint job and is waiting to get a complete new interior (in boxes). The C5 has a new harmonic dampener, belts, hoses, plugs, plug wires, and long tube headers waiting to be installed.

I have an Excel spreadsheet that I use to keep up with expenses for the insurance company just in case something happens. I haven't updated it in a while, but the drawer full of receipts is full. I could have a new ZR-1 in the garage if I had just saved my money up.

Raquel, Roxanne, and Michele in the back yard

Taz and Rocky in the main garage

Oh, I forgot to mention, I bought a parts car, too...

My biggest fear is when I'm gone my wife will sell everything in my garage for what she thinks I paid for it.
