Man i spent all afternoon going through the bills so far for this rebuild, and i think i am out of my mind. I have close to $32000.00 into this car now including what i paid for it Thank Christ i am almost done. I will have to drive this car for the rest of my life to get my money's worth out of it. Not that i am bitching, i am just surprised how fast it all added up. I love the car, and cant wait to start driving it.
Anybody have any good mediction they can send me to settle me down?
In the 15+ years I have owned mine I can say I have more than you in mine by a long shot. I NEVER have added anything up. I buy and sell a lot so some of it I have gotten some money back on. It is a hobby not an investment. I enjoy it and don't really care to know how much is in it. How much do you think a lot of golfers have spent in a lifetime of golfing. A lot I'm sure. There are more expensive hobbies also. Just enjoy it, if you think about the money you may not enjoy it as much.
Yes i agree with the above. I am doing this because i love the car and the result will be worth the work and the money. The Wife is excited to see the car done and start cruising it with me. This will be by far the nicest car i have built/owned.
Man, I am feeling so much better now! I have a 70 NOM project I have $7k in, and I figure another $7k to be where I want to be. I don't feel so bad now.

You can spend $40k in a heartbeat on a new fishing boat. $20 for a new golf cart & clubs,.....kayaking? dont get me started, .....Hunting- $20k on a 4 wheeler and gear, ...You get the idea. A man MUST have a past time , otherwise my wife would leave........
Suggestion: Stop counting.
Suggestion2 : sell it to me for 1/2 price...

Hi G427,
Just think the trouble you'd be in if you'd spent the $32K on a 19 year old BLOND.
A Corvette is money WISELY spent.
Regards,
Alan
That would just be a BEGINNING investment-- the total COST of that would be close to the NATIONAL DEBT. Even if you leave her on the back porch until the wife gets used to her.
And it's a safe bet she won't age as gracefully as a Vette.

I can relate to this, I got hung-up and obsessed about restoring a 65 roadster without its original engine to its original appearence and condition, finally had it looking real nice but the entire process pushed both me and my checkbook over the edge, just did not want the car anymore and I dumped it losing about 6k-7k now the "kicker" just to show what a clever guy I am, all the while I worked on this project I had a 66 nassau blue/blue interior roadster with its original s/b engine/with 4speed and a 68 red/red coupe with its original 427/400hp tri-power engine/with 400 turbo trans, neither car need anything, but I sold them both and kept the 65, so don't be to hard on yourself.

When I was young, I spent my money on those 19 year-old blonds.
Now I spend it on a black Corvette, golf outings, and whiskey.
All the rest I just waste...

Better advice never posted.
The return on "investment" is suppose to be entertainment.
