Default Radiator support

I gotta replace the radiator support in my '75, The entire bottom part is rusted out. I found an awesome deal on one from a '80, but have read there are differences between it and mine. If I have read the 100 or so threads correctly, I can use the '80 support and radiator and it should bolt into my '75 right? I have no plans on leaving the vette stock, I just want to have something that works good without hacking anything up.

The 80 core support and radiator should work, but you'll need to use the 80 shrould with it also. The 75 shrould will not attach to the 80 support. If you can't get the shrould with the support and radiator, be aware that a new one is about $400.00.

You'll probably need to use the 80 upper and lower hoses, too.

Good point... Crap I didn't even think of that.

Looks like it will be cheaper just to get the new radiator support from wilcox or someone.

Thanks

The 76L-81 core support will work in an earlier car. The shroud is different as noted. The later one also uses different style radiator mounts also. Not a big deal, but different.

...I've changed the core support on my current '75 coupe and on the Yellow 4spd '80 that I used to own. It is much easier and less headache if you replace the core support with the one that's exactly like the present one in your car. Not a bad job, took about 6hrs for each car doing it carefully and right the first time.
