As jim mentions and gq's picture shows .... clean is the BIG thing that's needed, even before chrome.

My 82 is NOT a low milage car. She has a little over 127,000 miles on her now. I restored the engine compartment in 1999 and have put 40,000 on her since then.

With just a little TLC and some wax, over this last winter, I cleaned up my CFI, and went from this:
But you went backwards. You had a classic American Iron engine and now you have one made from recycled Old Milwaukee cans. You told the crossfire what to do and now you tell a 'puter to tell it what to do. Technology sux.

Here is mine with a bit more shiny stuff than you usually see on a crossfire.

Who did you have chrome the Air Breather?
I've been thinking about getting a spare and having it chromed.

Let me know if you want one. I have a couple of used spares that I accumulated over the years and would be more than happy to send you one for just the cost of shipping.

I had a local automotive chrome shop do the chroming. I searched for a couple years without success for a chromed one and finally decided to buy a spare on ebay and have it chromed myself.
THIS is who plated it for me, good quality and the price wasnt too painful. Jim, that is VERY generous of you, Im sure someone will take you up on that offer !!!
