Small runners won't see the benefit from a bigger cam. A 180cc runner will only flow so much air... a cam with large lift, big duration and radical overlap will cause airflow; read driveability problems because of poor flow and valve timing match to the heads. In short, it will run like sh..... .

Too Many people who wanna play "kid racer" over cam and or over carb their cars....how will you be using the car?
I've got an L48 that was bone stock. Thanks to the lefty nutjobs and their greener oil, the cam lobes wore down. I decided to go with an L82 cam not too racy, but a bit more beefy and powerful IMO. Only trouble was when it came in it appears to be a bit more racy, so we're still not sure if its the right cam. In the end, I am still happy with the performance and idle. I got a Speed-Pro Sealed Power CAM. CS-1095R.
don't think there's enough difference between the two to worry about, but given that choice i would go with the 270.
as others have said, go with the roller. i know it's a big price hit, but it's cheaper than rebuilding motors every few years and you'll pick up 20-30hp with a similar sized cam.
