i was wondering i saw this corvette a while ago its a 76 and still has a good title but its mainly the frame and body now i was wondering if i would be able to drop a 454 into it and buy a new front clip and be in ok shape or would there be alot of modifications to do to it to fit a 454 in that late of a year im not afraid to modify it but i dont want to have to move the firewall back and all that fun stuff cause im currently doing that to my 1973 vw bug to put a 350 in it. but for 450$ canadian is it that bad of a start?
Well, if you don't mind doing every square inch of the car, have at it.But before you do anything, check out the frame, then the birdcage. You at least need a good starting point.Good luck.
It looks like a parts car to me. I don't see anyway to get this car back without spending a fortune and about they only way to keep your head above water on this one is if you found a smoking deal on a nice car with a bad frame and or a bad birdcage. You will still end up with more hrs. than you can count getting this car back together.
I am not sure what it converts to in us dollars but it might be worth buying to part out?
Also make sure there is not something going on with the vin#, in the first picture it looks like someone hacked out the windshield to get to the vin tag. It does not look right going by that pic.
And on the question of the 454. It will fit without any mods. to the frame or firewall. The small blocks and big block both have the same measurements from the motor mounts to the bellhousing.

If the frame is rust free, buy it. You'll make some money if you take the body off and sell it as a good rolling chassis. Sell the T-tops and the doors, junk the rest. Then take that money and apply it toward a real project car. That car will eat you alive before you even begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
