I bought an '81 on Friday. It is my 4th Vette. I had a C4, then a C5. I now have a C6 and the "new" C3.
The '81 is beautiful, NCRS top flight, but is no comparison to the comfort of my C6.
Can anyone tell me how to adjust the engine idle as it seems to be idleing a little too low. The alternator and choke lite come on at idle but go off as engine speed barely increases.

Don't buy these vettes for an investment, buy the one you like the best. They are both a good choice, I have an '81 which I like very much. When I was looking for a vette and it had been a '73, I am sure I would have been happy with it also. As mentioned above buy the one with the least rust. If rust is not an issue then buy the one you like.
