Default Ignition shielding value?

OEM stuff for a small block. All the brackets and various pieces. Really needs re-plated (top of the "box" isn't to bad, but the rest is pretty poor).

Any ideas on what it might be worth?

I'm not sure if I'll use it or sell it yet. Just wondering what it might be worth.

Besides what year, pictures as well. Besides the shields, what else? Several manifold brackets, wing nuts as well the vertical box supports are required.

All came off of a 69 w/a 350 and have, from what I can tell by looking at pages 438/439 of the AIM, ALL the brackets, wing nuts, and assorted pieces that are required, less some of the wing nuts on the lower portions that mount to the exhaust manifolds.

The top of the main box isn't terrible, although it too should be plated, unless someone wanted the originality with a bit of rust speckling.

The "down" pieces are definitely in need of plating or painting, and the mounting brackets would need cleaned up and painted as well.

I'll see if I can get some pics this afternoon...

But, barring pics, anyone want to opine as to a value?

Zip sells the complete kit for $400. All new chrome components and hardware.

It would cost you more to rechrome the old hardware so I would only pay a small amount at a swap meet for your kit just to have spare pieces.

I've seen the kits at Wilcox, but I assume that they are aftermarket, so maybe the original metal might be worth a bit more to a purist...?

Regardless, my thoughts are to paint the verticals, brakcets and lower portion of the disty cover body color, while keeping the "lid" polished.

I gave $100.00 for all the pieces.

One of the verticals is decent and the other is terrible.

Both lowers look like they were never plated (I won't be using them anyway).

The remaining pieces don't look to bad considering where the go on an engine (won't be using them either).

The aftermarket shields have a one piece box that covers both then distributor/coil. The original box was in two parts. Please describe the box you have.

This is definitely original....

Two piece box.

The top is held on with three wing nuts,

Top of the box has an extra layer that is held in place with four plastic rivets.

The rear (or front. I don't know) of the box bottom has a little "tab" with some serrated teeth riveted to it (what was that for?).

On the original sets were the lowers plated? As I posted before, these appear to have never had any plating on them....
