I just purchased a pair of factor 69 style side exhaust from a forum member last week and I'm super excited to begin the process to install them. I overheard someone on the forum say, I would have to make some fine cuts in order to fit the exhaust into place... Is this true? if so does anyone have any pictures of some installtions ect.. in order to have some visual points to look at.. Please any and all comments would really help. Also is ther anything else I should be worried about??

You do need to trim the bottom of the fender to make everything fit. The diagrams and dimensions are all in the AIM. I'm sure you can also find the same info on vendors sites. Take your time and be sure of your cuts. You can always cut off more but it's hard to put it back on!

Good Luck!

Ok thanks for the feedback.Does any members have any pictures of their factory side exhaust installs to I can get a better uderstanding where and how much to cut from the bottom fender. My side exhaust are going on my 68 327.
if your car is a 70-74 style -
one piece you will need to remove is under the front fender. There is a small piece of fiberglass that the rocker molding is attached to. It has a screw front the bottom and it also has the last screw that holds the front of the rocker molding, going through the fiberglass piece.
The screw holes that hold the side exhaust cover on will not align with the screw holes from the rocker molding (99% sure).
What year are the pipes you purchased from?
There are some subtle differences and they might make mounting the exhaust a little tricky.
You need to trim a little off the bottom of the fender, right where the exhaust pipe passes under it.
This is to allow the muffler to tuck up high enough on the side of the car.
Be careful and trim a little at a time so that you don't cut too much away.

Thank you for the pictures!!!! They really helped! Also I have a pair of brackets that look like L shape were do they mount??? do you have a pictur of that?
Hi J,
I believe the bracket you're referring to is used to mount the rear of the cover to the frame. It has 2 holes that match up with 2 small holes in the bottom rear of the center section of the cover. A single bolt fastens the other end of the bracket to the bottom of the frame rail. The bracket is sort of shaped like a 'lazy' Z.

Alan
