Default Finally a major step forward

The last couple of weeks I spent many hours finishing up a bunch of work on the car and finally sent it off for body work & paint

Without getting into every last detail the last step was to take the hood from this

To this

Didn't finish until middle of the afternoon Saturday, then installed the headlights finished up a few details & got ready to load. Wife took a picture as I bolted on the hood support

Then after rigging up some rope & a come along..... I had her on the trailer by 7:30 or so.

After an eventful trip on the LI Expressway, BQE, the Gowanus Expressway and the Jersey turnpike shes Now in the capable hands of John and the crew at Autobuffs in Southampton,NJ

I'm sure John will post up some pictures as he gets under way. I was trying to get everything finished so I didn't get to take pictures of the bottom of the hood completely stripped, well almost completely.

Then there's the saga of the U haul trailer & wheel straps , but we'll save that for another day

Jim

Pretty exciting stuff Jim. Once you get it back from paint you will me amazed how all your work is paying off. Maybe your painter will surprise you and repaint the Crusin USA on the hood. That sure screams 1970's.

Me too It'll be nice to see some color on the car again.

Rob - I hope not but we'll put something unique on it

Artie, that's a combination of fiberglass dust & gray hair from the car & my daughters
