hi all,
i'm a new vette owner and just joined a month or so ago and have been reading this forum and really enjoyed all that have posted. ya'll seem like a great bunch of guys and gals who are very knowledgable about corvettes. i'm learning and have a good friend of mine that has a 74 white on red 454/auto that he's slowly fixing it up. so we hope to hit some local car meet and greets with our sharks some day.
the real reason why i wanted to post was i bought a 82 CE and want to show you what i have so i can get some honest opinions on what i have and what ya'll feel it may be worth. I'm going to take some pictures but wanted to see more what and where to take pictures so you can see the real car.
what i know is i bought it from the 3rd owner who had it 13yrs. the car was bought in tampa and has been in the area every since. the car was painted in 97 (i think because of some damage to the left rear) and the stripes and decals not put back on because of the expense. flow masters and non-stock distributor are all i can tell that are not stock. the car has 87k miles on it and to me is a car that is in good shape. i feel i got a deal and wanted to know if i did and once i get some opinions i will reveal what i paid for it. so tell me besides the obvious of areas that i need to take pics of for an inspection please.
i haven't been looking at the other forums to see what they all have but since i can't afford a c2 (which is my favorite) the c3 is what i grew up with and nothing can top those fins driving down the road. ya'll have done some awesome jobs on these cars to keep them alive and well. way to go !! great job!!
Mike
Welcome to the forum. You and the seller already decided what your car is worth. Are you having second thoughts? Unless you stole it, you should have asked the forum before you pulled the trigger, especially if you are new to the old vette community. Wanting a C2 but settling for a C3 is not really a good way to endear yourself to the rest of us on this C3 forum. The majority of us believe the C3 is the best looking vette ever made. Hey, just enjoy the car and drive the heck out of it.

Hi Mike,
I'm glad to see your post and read about your car.
FR is right that the deal is done, so good deal or not you'll get to enjoy your Corvette!
It would be great to see some pictures and I'm sure you'll get lots of comments then.
Good Luck!!!
Regards,
Alan

thanks and i have no regrets at all for what i have bought. i'm very excited and very happy to be the owner of this beauty. yes i settled for now because it what i could afford. to me a sports car is not a true sports car unless it has a stick. then you are really driving that car. just wondered how i did thats all. thanks again i appreciate your response.

1st you offend us all by saying you settled for a c3. now your saying us guys with autos dont have a real sports car. come for a ride with me and then tell me its not a real sports car. WELCOME, NUTSY.

Hey Welcome to the forum, lots of good guys here, and I hope you enjoy the Vette even if it is a C3..
Now about the stick shift. I think a whole bunch of Ferrari owners with paddle shift would beg to differ about it being a "True Sports Car"
Enjoy the C3, if you are happy who cares what you paid
Welcome aboardI too love the C2's but am very happy with my C3There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum and a great group of people. Congrats on your purchase.

i certainly didn't mean or want to offend anyone. perhaps my words were not written correctly but to me a stick makes you feel like you are driving the car more than an auto. in my opinion. and would love to take a ride in your sports car!!
I can't believe there are so many posts on this thread and Alan is the only one asking for pictures. So where are they?
As far as what it's worth. Faster Rat nailed it when he said "You and the seller already decided what your car is worth." Asking what it's worth on this forum is like asking my brother-in-law. If you told him you got it for free he would tell you he could have gotten the seller to pay you to take it. Sometimes I think he's on here with several ID's when anyone asks "What's it worth"?

But, um...didn't you just buy an automatic shifted C3? You didn't want a true sports car either? P.S. car looks pretty clean. You should buy the original decal set and install them. I think the collectors edition looks better "with" the graphics

Until I break down and buy one of them cupholder thingies that go over the brake lever I need my free hand to hold my soda pop, so I can't drive a stick. Just kiddin, I think the more you drive the C3 you will be hooked with the rest of us, have fun!!
