I was thinking about getting my intake ceramic coated. Has anyone done this and do you have any pics to share?

Any other options recommended like powder coating?

Thanks

If you spend a little time smoothing out the casting a little bit, you'll be much happier with the end result!

If you ceramic-coat the "top" of the intake manifold, that will cause heat to be retained and raise the temperature of the air/fuel charge...just what you don't want to do.

You gotta remember insulation works both ways. We coat the entire intake, top and bottom. Coating the bottom helps keep the hot oil from penetrating the intake, and coating the top will help keep hot engine compartment air from penetrating it.

If this is primarily to shield heat from intake ... it's mostly a waste of $ on a street car.

especially if intake has an operational exhaust Xover/riser as do OE intakes & a few of the entry-level aftermarket intakes.

aesthetics are another matter
