Wide body kit....not too uncommon years ago. I think Eklers and a couple others still sell them.

I'm sure it's insured for lots of $$, so I think the best thing to do would be to move it under that shed so the shed can collapse on it later this summer.

Alan

Default Wide body

About 1975, 1976 Ecklers had the wide body kits along with the hatch back kit. And L88 hood.

I wanted all of the above, for my 75 coupe. But ended up with the L88 hood and the ZL1 flares.

Have driven two wide body vetts, its deceiving looking in the rear view mirrors .

Not a big fan of that wide body kit. I have seen some other Vettes with that same body kit.

Wide bodies were inspired by the IMSA racers of the day. Kinda makes you wonder how the C5-6 racer clones will be percieved 20 years later.

It's the 4 big black rubber cow catchers on the bumper that looks awful. I'm not sure what protection they would offer in a rear end collision.

I am a firm believer that people are more that welcome to customize their rides anyway they see fit.

Just don't expect everyone to appreciate the end result...

I like wide bodies, I even have two myself, but that rear bumper treatment is aweful, IMHO.
Wonder what will ever happen to this one, I bet it will probably show up sometime later on the net for sale with a high price tag claiming some ultra rare history.
Although I love customs as well as stock corvettes, always its good to keep in mind that rare and desireable are not always linked together.

I don't see what the problem is. Looks like a great platform for a race car. Definitely need to lose the bumper guards and the two inside tail lights.
