as for the non original modifications, its all in what the owner wants. it looks like the wife is standing in one of the pics to make sure he attempts to sell it. In which case, he puts a HUGE price tag so no one buys it! Thats my thought on it
I sent him a message asking, "Why would someone pay $75,000 for a non original engine and paint color?"
His response was, "why should it matter to you, if you are not buying it, then don't worry. you have nothing better else to do accept write people with comments that no one wants to hear or cares what you have to say. go on craigslist and bother someone else."
You have to admit he IS consistent. After all, the word 'except' isn't numbers matching anymore either!
I might ask myself that same question. But I probably wouldn't bother asking the seller, if I weren't interested in making an offer. It is a really nice car, regardless of the non-factory issues.
FWIW the Vin Tag is in dire need of some help. Besides the crooked numbers the fonts are wrong and the numbers are in the wrong positions. But whose counting. After you spend the 75k for the non-this and non-that you can spend another $100 and get a correct repro vin tag.

It makes me wonder why it's not right to begin with. Who's Corvette is he trying to sell, anyway?
Bad vin tag, non original engine, non original paint. Take out the obvious things with the real vin on it and change the color so no one recognizes it. .........hmmmmm.
I hate to kill the buzz here, but why is this in the C3 section?
Which was my first question.

Not really. If the owner (actually the "buyer") wants non-original components that perfectly up to him. However, its flat-out stupid to pay twice the market price for modifications.
If a buyer wants non stock stuff, he needs to make that work for him and buy low, accurate to the market value. Not go out and pay full stock paint/engine prices.
That black/black original color combination caught my attention until I saw that VIN plate. Yikes.

It might be a scam. Somebody elses Photobucket pictures or something. If he really wanted that much, I believe he would have better photos.
