I have a Champion battery in mine from Sams. I believe it is from 2002. I don't trust it anymore, but it keeps going. I have heard good and bad about Optima. I will follow this thread with interest.
it's time for a new battery. what should i get????
Am on my second corvette and have only used Sears Die Hard Gold NEVER left me stranded and I leave it hooked up all winter and the car will start no problem in the spring. If it wernt for the 944 Porsche in my garage my Corvette would be in the garage right now.
Not too much money and the warranty is good and in all 50 states.

not where i asked what kind of battery do you guys prefer..
The brand marked "cheap".
I don't care what brand it is anymore. I have dead Interstate, Champion, Optima and Die Hard. They are all junk to someone. Save the money and buy a cheap one that you can replace in nearly every city in the USA.
Use a battery tender and start the car now and then to put a load on the battery. The worst thing you can do to a battery (aside from dropping it or hitting it with a hammer) is not use it.
I replaced an Optima Red Top battery with the yellow Maxx battery from Wal Mart...excellent and no problems at all. During the winter when the car is stored I keep a Battery Tender on it. That goes a long way to extending the life of any battery, no matter the manufacturer or seller.
I just installed a Braille B3121. I'll let you know how it holds up in few years.... It does have a high CCA rating and is very light weight. I did install a hard wired Battery Tender Jr at the same time.
