Default trailing arm rebuild

I am starting to rebuild the suspension on my 79 and was wondering if anyone knew of a place in New Jersey to have my trailing arm bearings replaced.

Cant help for a NJ based rebuilder.
Consesnus (sp?) is Bairs in PA or Vansteel (in Fla?) for rebuilds or exchange units.

Consensus? Dunno about that. Personally I'd say Mike Dyer in Dallas, Tracdogg2 here on the forum.

I did mine with a local corvette shop with a good reputation, but I have always thought for forum vendors, it was Van Steel or Bairs as well.

I don't know if forum member paulywannafly at the Corvette Shop in Montgomery N.Y. rebuilds trailing arms but if you are close enough it wouldn't hurt to ask. Gary R. in Conn. is another possibility. If you want to exchange your arms for rebuilts I can recommend Van Steel.

I exchanged mine for rebuilt ones @ Bairs.
The cost and time for a rebuild was not worth the speed and ease of the exchange.

Be sure that whoever you have do the rebuild uses the good spindles. Some of the big rebuilders (which includes sponsors on this forum) use chinese spindles. The chinese spindles are not strong enough and will twist and eventually snap in half.

The US made spindles have an 'S' with an arrow through it cast into the hub.

This is the US spindle:
