I am going to look at a '69 convertible tomorrow. NOM, BB, 4 speed. I have had my '75 for 17 years now and find myself wondering if I am making a good decision to buy another C3.
I am not ready to sell the '75 yet but wonder if I need two C3's. I keep thinking that I should get a '67 Camaro or Chevelle BB instead so I have a car with a back seat.
Got a 75 and a 78. Wouldn't trade them for the world.
The 75 is an auto L-48 and the 78 is a 4speed L-82 Silver Anniversary so they're different and each has it's reward. the plan is to restomod/hotrod the 75 and keep the 78 as original as possible.
Getting a chromie would be a no-brainer to me and I would end up with 3 C3s.
I have a '69 L71 convertible and I did own a '78 Silver Anniversary L82. The '78 was a really great driving car and cruiser, but life being what it is, one ended up having to go a few years ago. Investment-wise it made sense to keep the '69 though it doesn't get driven as much as the '78 did.
Thanks for the inputs. If I get the '69, I would use it as a weekend toy with the 4 speed. The '75 already has a Tremec so I would add EFI and AC and go back to an undercar exhaust and just drive the heck out of it.
i'm a sick puppy. 70 vert(my baby), 72 coupe(my rat rod), and working on a 72 vert(for wife). who needs a back seat when you have three cars!
I agree. Got a little one that can ride in a car seat in one vette with me and the wifey in the other. Now if I can get the wife to let me take the baby out for a ride
My grandfather alway said....You only live once and you cant take the money with you once its over.I know its not a c3...its a 1985 BB conversion, Just picked it up yesterday. I have had my c3 for 7 years now, and wanted a car I could play with without worrying that I couldnt put it back to stock, the c3 parts were really starting to fill the shelves.
Im super excited to get started on the next one....
CHEERS!

Reason: MISSPELLING
I've got a 69 that is currently undergoing a frame off restoration that is taking waaaaay longer than I thought it would. Sooooo being that it is taking so long, I bought a 71 to drive while the restoration goes on. I started to get into the mindset of taking shortcuts with the 69 because I just wanted to get it on the road. The 71 now pasifies me with a driver while I continue down the slow road with the 69 so it can take as long as it does and I still have a C3 to drive in the mean time.
Many of you have already read that I have two sons of which each will be getting one of the Vette's someday faaaaaaar (I hope) down the road so had to have two for that reason as well. Additionally, just had a grandson show up so maybe I'll be looking for a third C3 because I don't want him to feel left out . Still trying to get that issue past the queen though.
Bottom line is that I wouldn't part with either one of them.
79, 70, 81 here. i say go for it. It it's what you like then buy all you can. Sure you will drive one more than the others, but that's ok. You have reserves in case you have to work on one. That is how I justify doing mods to mine. No matter what I still have a nice corvette to drive.
I need more room. I have a wider than your normal 3 car attached garage, and its full, and I don't even get to park my daily driver in it.
Plan is to buy house with land and/or additional garage included. Need about 4-6 garage spaces minimum.
Then I hope to start collecting. Until then, I can dream ..............
You need to rethink your plan. I have a two car garage and a barn that should hold four cars. When you have that land you're gonna need a tractor (there goes one space). Then you need a trailer (oops, there goes another space) and a leaf vacuum that uses a trailer to collect the leaves (maybe you can squeeze that in with the tractor, but it will be a pain to get it out to use it). Then of course our corvettes need three spaces, one for the chasis, one for the body, and one for all the parts that aren't on the chasis or body. Then you need a daily driver for you and maybe wife and maybe teenagers. I think you need 10 spaces minimum.
