Default AC solenoid

Is the air conditioning idle solenoid on the carb as used on a 79 adjustable?
I read they are not. Wanted to make sure cause I just sold one to a guy and said it is not adjustable.
Don't want to turn the bolt and hear it go 'snap' inside

If you mean the cycling temp switch, no they are all preset.
Some of them have a small setscrew that can be changed a wee bit.
You can get an adjustable replacement with a stem for a ****.
Their only about 15 to 20 bucks.

thanks Roger, I guess he means for the carb, then yes.

79 Corvette shop manual says....
"All compensators are factory set and non adjustable"
"A malfunctioning unit should be replaced".

It doesn't matter for my Vettes but the one I sold is a "non correct" for the year it's going on.
Why are there specific part numbers for pretty much each year?

77,79,80

What's the diff?

It just seemed to me to be the solenoid.
No? Something else?

"within the carburator" but accessable with the air cleaner removed. ??

Well, page 6C-21
Carb diagram with notation..
"turn solenoid screw to adjust to specified rpm"

None of mine need adjusting and it's boxed ready to ship. I'll let the buyer mess with it.
I'll give him the link to this thread
