One thing to keep in mind, ANY old car or truck will be tough to keep up with if you are not a mechanic. Jus't don't let that frighten you away from a C3. They are no harder to work on than any other used vehicle that's 30 years old.

And on one note, my '81 has been much cheaper to work on than my daughter's '98 Dodge Stratus. Call me nuts...

Default Go For it!

I bought my 1980 about a month ago for use as a daily driver. Paid $6,500

Things done before I bought it:
-Decent paint (2 small flaws)
-no rust issues
-All electric works except PL and Cruise
-All new bushings
-Whole new front end
-All new 4 Wheel disc brakes
- Brand new 255/60/15 BF Goodrich radials
-Interior has no cracks (a little dirty)
-69,000 Miles (NOM)

Things I've HAD to do:
-Repair headlight vacuum leak to fix rough idle

So far its reliable! starts right up and drives like a champ. Only problem right now is heat. My AC works but cannot overpower the heat coming from floorboards. I'll be installing a heat barrier next, should cost about 100. I'll be posting pics as soon as I get a chance. BTW- I'm averaging about 17-18 MPG. Not bad for a 30 yr old car w/ a 350, but I go easy on the gas.

What I deal! $200 more than what I paid and I have a laundrey list of projects. (Had no A/C, no cruise, no horn, no wipers, no lights...)

Nice! Speeding ticket red and color looks nice and bright. Get a detector, heh. The front end looks familiar. Seems that's a common problem area. I have chips in mine right in the center point.
