I notice a few posts in the past where people had refinished thier rocker panel mouldings with great success so I thought I would try it out on the sill plates.
These were from my buddies 72 that he was going to throw out, thought I would practice on them to see how they would turn out.
Started out with 80 grit on a sanding block and took out the heavy scratches, then worked up to 400 grit . I finished up with Aluminum compound on the buffing wheel. I did not do the center section as it was still in decent shape. They are not 100% yet but look much better than when I started. Took about 1hr and saved $50.
