I had my 82 up on stands the other day, just having a look around, and noticed that the flow arrow on the cat is pointing towards the engine. Is it safe to assume this is not a factory defect, rather a poorly done replacement? I'll have to ask mom if she had it replaced, and if so, why. Seems like <75000 miles is way too soon to have wasted a cat.
I assume since they went to the trouble to label the flow direction that it has some impact on performance. The car seemed to run fine the last few times I drove it. Do I need to get that corrected before I (eventually) get her back on the road?
