1977 Chevrolet Corvette

I know that she's winking in one of the pictures. I fixed that problem lol. The interior was redone shortly before we purchased it in 2007, and the paint is in desperate need of attention lol. The fellow we bought the car from had never painted before, but was a wonderful mechanic and interior man. He decided that, of all the cars he was working on, he would use the Corvette as his "learner" car to paint on. Not a good idea. I mean he used enamel paint for God's sakes lol.
It is the base, non L82 350ci V8. Chevrolet has these models rate at 180hp, but after driving it, I have a VERY hard time believing that to be accurate. It is simply too fast lol. The guy we bought it from had also recently installed a small cam. I am not sure of the power gain, but man did it help the exhaust note lol.
I am currently in the process of choosing a color for it. I have it narrowed down to three. White as it is now, red as I have wanted my whole life, or silver as I have recently found out looks great over a red interior lol.
We have a local guy doing to light restoration. Some fellow forum members may know his name. Irvin Patrick! For those not familiar, he is a legendary Corvette restorer out of Eastern Kentucky. And what a job he does. He also has, in his garage, serial number #001 from years 1955, 1956, 1957. That's right, he has the very first one off the line for all 3 years. I am jealous lol.
But she is my baby. I love her dearly. God has blessed me with my dream car at the age of 16. And I really can think of no proper way to repay Him lol. And it was when I first got to drive this car that I realized what others were talking about. There may be other cars on the road similar to a Corvette, but when you drive one, simply nothing else can compare

Thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions? Go for it!
Remove that hideous rear wing thing.
Change the carpet, seats, dash out for black ones (and leather seats).
Change that wood grain stuff to just black..
But it seems that you like the red...so number two would be out of the question..

Mine need A cam and while putting the new one in (choices and all ) the parts guy I was buying my parts form said that around that Yr. the cams were soft and tended to wipe lobes.
If it should need Valve cover Gaskets . you can check your cam then by placing oli catchers every where and running the engine at low R.P.M.
I would change the rear end grease and the brake fluid.

My first vette was a white '77 L48 automatic when I was 19...that was twenty years ago *sigh*
