On my 69 is an idiot lamp that says brakes up on the tach, is that for the parking brake or the main braking system?
It has never come on so I was curious where to start...
Besides when coming on via a simple switch whenever the emergency brake is engaged. The light should also come on when there is an imbalance in one of the sides of the master cylinder.
So, if there is a problem with the hydraulics of the brake system, and one side or the other is leaking, the light should come on whenever you press the brakes.
My guess now is bulb because it's never lit up and I have had brake problems and used the parking brake handle even though it didnt have any brakes in the rear rotors...why would someone just take them out and not replace...sounds Bubba to me

They make some mechanical 4 wheel brake locks that use the brake pedal, they pull the brake pedal down using a cable attached to the park brake handle.
