Default Brake bleeding

I want tothankTom454 for his advice that he gave on how to bleed brakes.I bleed mine many times with no luck.I guess my proportioning valve must be working because it wouldnt allow me to get the air out.I was getting fluid out with some air but not all until I did what he said.I bleed the front left and rear left at the same time. Then the right.Took about 30 min with a motive power bleeder. The thing that was throwing me off was that I got fluid out of it by bleeding the front and the rear seperate.Even got air bubbles out till Idid them both at the same time.I have dot 5 in it and it stops better than my 02 tacoma. The pedal is hard as rock.Man you dont know how frustrating this had become.I bet I bleed 5 qts of fluid thru this thing. One thing is for shure its cleaned out. Thanks again Tom.Now I can move on to othere things that need attention.

Well..... Did you somehow bypass the perportioning valve ? I have the same problem. New calipers, new master cylinder.... still seems to have air in the system. I would find it hard to be in two places at once. I'm using a vacuum type bleeder.

I tired the vac bleeder and just sucked air around the bleed screws with no luck at all.I bought a motive power bleeder for about 60 bucks. It will free up your hands for opening bleed screws.Just cut a wood block and put it on top of the plastic plate that gose on top of the mastercylinder with a large c clamp. The j hooks and chains that come with it are a joke. Then pump it up and check for leakes. When its air tight fill it up with brake fluid, pump it up and you can flush out the system in no time along with the air.You can do it all the old fashion way by using the brake pedal with enough people on hand.I wouldnt trade the power bleeder for any tool I have.By bleeding one side front and back at the same time it centers the valve and lets all the air out.Let me know how it works out.
