Default Detailed engine pics?

I have been looking for some up close and detailed engine pics of a '72 LT-1. The heads were removed when I got mine, I have original bolts but would like to know for sure where each one goes, like intake and water pump and the likes.

So who has some? Try'n to finish the top end and needing some detailed engine pics!! Eric?

Thanks!

These are probably not detailed enough for you but maybe of some help. I did a body-on freshening up of my 72 a couple years back. A good friend now has it and I see it all the time and regret selling it.

Roy, "rvasques" here on the forum has a mint restored 72 LT-1. I have some general pics of his engine, but not detailed that you need. pm him. He might have pics taken during the restoration of the engine.

Awesome! helps some! I am just trying to figure out where each of the intake bolts go. Sucks my car was missing the AIR-smog pump. No bracket for it, the pump or the tubes. So some of these pics help.

any more showing just the intake bolts? need to know which holes to put the "stud" bolts in.

Thanks guys!!!

The stud bolt is for mounting the TCS solenoid. It goes in the right rear hole. You can see the TCS in one of the 3rd to last pic. It's the silver cylinder shaped part with vacuum hoses and a black plug attached to it.

Thanks for all the pics!!! Got it fired up last night and well I am missing the TCS and still the smog.

Parts store could not even locate a TCS in the computer or books... Now I am wondering what to do about that. Also carb needs tuned.

But man does it feel good to hear it run since the last time I heard it run was 23-4 years ago!!! Woot Woot!

Fantastic news, glad you got her running
Try Sal Carbone at Restoration Parts outlet for the TCS setup he is in CT and sells stuff on fleabay.
Try Bill Hodel in Ohio for any AIR stuff you might need, but make sure your sitting down when you talk prices. (I would't want you to fall down and hit you're head on something sharp). If you want I can PM you contact info for both those guys.
Again Congratulations on getting the motor started, and lets see some pictures, Please !
Regards
Roy

Just wondering if I even need the TCS.
The AIR setup I may save till I am retired and looking for some place to waste some money. LOL

I will see about some pics but looks like several others, nothing fancy, fresh paint and stock.

72 LT-1 with A/C. Just about finished it. Only need to paint the block and replace the belts now. (plus move that heater hose that is on top of the A/C compressor). The Holley carb was just rebuilt and refinished. I found a local rebuilder who did the carb for only @$200. I started it for the first time last night and it ran GREAT. No adjustments needed.

FYI, I recently bought my NOS TCS solenoid on ebay. There are often a few for sale, used and NOS. And the stud to hold it is readily available from the Corvette parts vendors. Holley makes a carb base gasket that has a divider in the middle, to match our aluminum intake. I've spent months gathering the parts and working on this LT-1 engine to get it as right as possible. Another forum member has helped me greatly with detailed pics of his '72 LT-1 engine components. Good Luck with yours. There's nothing like the sound of these solid lifter LT-1's idling! - Ken

Since I have no air pump and not TCS valve where should I run my Vac lines? Roy more pics of your vac line setup would help. Hard to tell where they run. Also after a lil tuning, I realised I have some vac leakes. Plugged lines and tuned and car idles and runs different... Now to find leaks... hahahahahaaa
