Anyone out there know a company that repairs ralley wheels? My spare tire wheel is date correct but it has this dent in the rim. I would like to get it straightened so I can put it back into service with a good wheel. If you know anyone please let me know.
Thank you.
David
There is a company in Waltham Massachusetts that advertises regularly in the back pages of Auto Week Magazine
Have seen their ad many times but don't have an Auto Week Magazine in the house right now.

Get a 4 lb hammer and fix it yourself, if it`s just the lip you can straighten it cold and hit it with some sandpaper and you are done
I didn't know it would be soft enough for me to do it myself. Well in that case I will whack on it tomorrow. Thank you for this insight.
Best regards,
David

I had a bent rim one time and went to neighborhood tire store to see what could be done. They just pulled out a big hammed and whacked it a couple of times. Presto, all fixed.
Using a press and the proper tool to fit into the rim would make things easier. You want to keep it 'round'. You also need to check rim runout at the diameter and at 90 deg. [front face of that edge] to make sure the rim is true when you get done.
I am taking the wheel down to Florida with me on my run down to visit Alan Russell and my 1971 restoration. Alan says we can and will repair it down there. I just didn't have the heart to whack on it, it is the correct date coded spare for my car...
Thanks for the advice all.

If this rim is for one of your 1977s and for whatever reason the repair does not come out, PM me with the required codes. I have a couple rims that came with the 77 I'm working over, and if date codes match I'd appreciate the opportunity to return an earlier kindness on your part. I'm less than 10 minutes off I-95 at GA mile marker 102. Cheers! Mark

I appreciate that Mark, thank you. This wheel if from my 1971 but I certainly do appreciate the kind offer. I will be close by on this trip South. We are spending night one in Charlotte, NC. Sunday morning we are heading from their down I-77 to I-26 to I-95 and then heading through SC and into GA. Want me to beep when we hit mile market 102?
Thanks again for the kind offer.

Use "shave and a haircut" so I know it's you. Should you require assistance (or tour information) while passing through, contact us. I can PM you our phone number, or we're listed... the last name is uncommon enough there's only one in the book in Garden City (Savannah).
David,
If you don't want to take it with you there is this place: http://www.wheelcollision.com/wccsvcs.html. I never worked with them, but I did call them for pricing once.
I did get the wheel repaired by Alan Russell and it is done now and ready for service. I have posted pictures in my Brandshatch Green Barn Find postings if you would like to see the final outcome. Very nice.
Best regards,
David
