I put Hooker sides on my 74 last August, by the end of the month the gaskets had blown out. Does anyone know what the proper torque specs are? Also which gaskets are the best to use? the copper ones? Oh, and does anyone have any secrets as to getting a wrench on some of the hard to reach ones?

Thanks
In the hard to reach places I use socket headed ones that I can get a big allen wrench on, I have used different kinds of gaskets but never torqued any of them just coat the bolts with anti sieze and run them down tight
You'll have to run the car for a bit and retighten the bolts. You'll do this several times before they'll stay put.
Beleive it or not I've had pretty good luck with the paper gaskets. Soak em in water for about 15 minuts before you install em. When they're wet and mushy the header sinks into em real good. Give it an hour or so before you fire it. Again check and retighten the bolts.
