So if anyone has had any luck finding out what this color code is I would love to know. Mine is currently red and will need to repaint in the near future. I love the red but appreciate the idea of restoring to original specs.
Well, you'll have to find a GM paint code list for 1966 to understand that one. The paint code numbers were not unique to a specific color. They were reused on different model years for different colors!!!
ie, 1970 & 71 had Bridgehampton Blue, paint code 979. 1972 had Targa Blue (a darker shade of blue with less metallic in it), paint code 979. Ain't that a 'kick in the butt'?
