Default Coil spring removal

I know that a spring compressor is the best way to remove a coil spring, and a torch to cut the springs is also an option, but how about using a cut off wheel? Anyone tried it before? Or securing a chain through the assembly (shock absorber area)? I don't have options 1 or 2 available!

I tried a spring compressor from Harbor Frieght but could not make it work/fit. Someone on the forum suggested this and worked well for me.

I forgot to add that the body is already off. Do you think a bare frame (except front suspension) will keep enough weight on the lower A arm/jack to accomplish this.

Floor jack under the lower control arm, loosen the nut on the ball joint, split the ball joint from the knuckle, remove the shock, remove the nut and lower the floor jack. You can run a small chain thru the spring so it won't fall out. Out is much easier than in.

Just saw you have the body off= that makes it tougher- you will need to figure out a way to compress the spring- some 1/4 plate and some 1/2" all thread will help you hold the spring compressed to get it out. Back in you'll really need to have some way to compress the spring.

I only have to deal with the removal, going with the VB&P monospring on rebuild.

I would guess that using the chain to help cinch it down wouldn't hurt either. thanks, we'll give it a shot!
