My girlfriends 1980 Corvette has found it's way into my garage. Her father bought it brand new but passed away 10+ years ago. It has been sitting for years.
We want to bring it back to life, but I was curious if there is anyone out there in the Philadelphia area that is willing to take the first look at it? I fairly mechanically inclined but definitely not ready for a full bore restoration. She wants the car to be road worthy, not show quality.
If anyone is local and willing to help me out it would be greatly appreciated. She's a great cook btw-
If I lived in your area, I'd be over in a heartbeat (is that the same as a "New York minute"?). Keep your thread open and give it time for people to respond. I'm sure some Forum folks will answer the call.
Pet it, but don't feed it. If you feed it, you'll never get rid of it.
Good luck.
Do not be afraid of it. get yourself an AIM (Assembly Instruction Manual), as well as de service manual and with the help of all of us on the forum you will be on the road in no time.
Hey Christian,
I'm south west of you, down in York, about 2+ hours away. I'm no pro either just older but not necessarily wiser. I've a 77 that I've managed to keep road worthy for several years mostly through trial, error, bad judgement, good guesses, sheer luck, a couple of manuals and knicked knuckles. I dont get up that way often but I'd be willing to come over on a Saturday or two or three. I just looked at the weather map and its about 30% chance of t-storms this weekend so the baby being alergic to rain doesn't come out. That aside just let me know and I'll go for a ride.

Where exactly in Philly. I have done many Vettes over the years but I am in NJ just over the river. Depending on where you are Iam 30 minutes or so from you.
