Insurance of ANY type here is Florida is all over the map, it don't matter, homeowners, car, commercial...gotta shop ever year, the rate increases are just asstounding....
freeking rip off, all of it....
I don't remember Grundy, but Hag wanted 350/year on the '72 vette, and would not touch the '91 Miata...wife's car.....
so found another collector car company that took both, and just renewed for 270/year for both cars....
Adam Boca would not touch the Miata, and to boot had mileage restrictions....two strikes....
alright I did what you guys suggested and called Hagerty back and they still say 500+ for the same policy that i contacted Grundy on and Grundy said 192.50 Guess I know who I am going with

Adam Boca Corvette museum try him great guy great prices was not happy with either Quote from G or H!!!!!!
I'm 26, have mine insured for $35K with Hagerty and it's $300/yr. Something had to have been messed up on the app process or w/ the website. I would call.
That's a bit shocking! Are you sure? What's your deductible?
My 81 with an agreed value of $17,500 is $320 a year
I see that some insurance companies are starting to look at your credit rating as well as your driving record. Could this be an issue?
I have my '68 through Haggerty, with 125 mile towing, roadside assistance etc I pay about $300, $25K agreed value.
When I bought the 08 I went to my agent that does our cars, house, umbrella etc. $35K value, $350. It is pleasure use only, every driver in the house has a DD (plus the '68) I had my old MGB on our policy a couple years ago, IIRC about $600 for liability only.
I've been thinking about changing insurance companies and just did the on-line quote from both Grundy and Hagerty. The Hagerty quote was $468 and the Grundy was $224. I selected $750 deductible with Hagerty. Grundy didn't give me an option so I'm not sure what it is. That's for a 1972 modified Corvette driven by a 52 year old in the swamps of Louisiana. Think I'll call Grundy and ask a few questions.

Hello all,
My name is Adam Boca and I am the Insurance Agent for the National Corvette Museum's NCM Insurance Agency. I would love to provide a Collector Car quote to anyone here, and fairly confident that I will be able to beat most of the prices here while offering equal or better coverage/service. 100% of the commission goes to support the mission of the Museum too!
That is odd. What did the Hagerty sale lady (the Hag) say about it?
2 cars, both insured for $25,000... premium for the 77 is $200 and premium for the 78 is $500+? Makes no sense unless they expect a higher rate of claim with the 78, what with the decals and all. So if both cars got in the same accident maybe the 77 would cost $1000 to repair and paint but the 78 with that special paint job would cost $5000.
I think your getting somewhere.
Also as mentioned....some companies now use credit rating.
Price is also dependent on past company loss experience.
Who says every insurance company has to charge the same price??? Do all builders charge the same rate to build a house? Do all lawyers charge the same rate for their services? Do all grocery stores sell food for the same price? There are many factors in developing prices. This is why we each have the option to shop around.
