Even if the OP can't do it right now, perhaps another member is looking for just such a thing to play with. I always at least try and make contact if I find stuff like this... they might just want it out of the the yard!
I think the fender flairs & mods to the fenders by the windshield to match th ehoodwere done at the time the hood was replaced. Not necessairly a replaced nose.
Next time I'm cruising over that way I'll stop and knock on the door. Other than being mowed around, the car is currently registered and has legal tags, as well as an aftermarket HU in it: this leads me to believe that it is being driven....sometimes? I don't want to get this owner angry or offended.
Sometime car felt in the wrong hands and they end up like junk. In my home town there was that '73 that was ontario orange it has side pipes and the owner had bought of the shelf a LT1 and had some light mode like fiberglass bumper insted of the rubber one. That car was almost new because it's owner worked out of town most of his life. I dream of that car almost every night. So when he past away at a young age his father ended up with that car. It was my first stop when i was shopping for a corvette, finaly my dream corvette was for sale. The old man probably had been told that it was worth a lot of money. So back in 89 they were asking over 20 grand for that car. The paint started to fade and it was showing some sun dammage. So i kept on looking till i found my sweet '78. After a long period of time they did sell the car for less than half the price the were asking for. Someone bought it and did all kind of mod and beated the hell out of this car.Now it rotting on the front of Junk yard with flat tires. 21 years later i passed in front yesterday and almost had a tear when i saw that car again, thinking what would be that car if they had sell it to me.

It's a 68......the front could still be 68(with the exception of the hood of course) The clear side marker lights are correct for 68, but the front grill is hard to see.Should have silver paint on the front of the grill slats to be correct for 68 and very early 69. The chrome fender grills were available as a retro fit from Chevy and a lot of guys put them on the 68's. The Stingray emblems were a common addition in the day because people just liked it on there. The flairs had to have been added. The frame is going to be the big question mark. Rear view mirror is back from the windshield pillar so it's not an early 68(built after March). If the frame is good, might make a good candidate for a resto. You (or someone) might be able to get it for a good price....it doesn't seem like the present owner cares all that much about it.
