...to a local car show (not just Corvettes). About 180 miles down and back from Central Canada to the St. Lawrence River just across the river from Upper State New York. The town/City (Brockville, Ontario) is historic but I will not go into details.
Ambient was about 84*F. The 1974 hummed at 65-70mph on the way down. Temp stayed at about 200*F on the highway and 180*F in the city although that came up a bit in stop-and-go traffic. Recent threads fret about these temps; I consider them normal.
The weather was perfect. Crowds were large and I would say 600 cars were there. I am humbled by most. They are so perfect in so many ways.
So here are a few pics of a perfect Corvette Sunday. I'm home now and ready for some Chardonnay and a BBQ. Life is grand.

I would consider them normal too in those conditions. In cooler temps, like under 70 degrees, I would expect my coolant to stay at 180 on the highway, but wouldn't get freaked out by 200.

Nice pics, as usual!

If the day was 75*F the gauge would be bang-on 180*F. But today here in Canada it was well over 80*F. I was not concerned with 200*F. Nor was the car.
Thanks and Roy as well. Sometimes when a Corvette day with friends works out I get a feeling of satisfaction.
On the way back home I was tailed at ~70mph for several miles by some fellow in one of those new $$$s Porsches convertibles. He finally passed me at about 85mph and gave me a big thumbs up with a smile! Some people like these old cars.
Hi Paul,
As usual you're enjoying your Corvette more than many people.
The pictures of your car with the water in the background are beautiful.
I think you'll need to check under your hood.... I'll bet that Metropolitan parked behind you was asking your car to borrow a few horses while you weren't listening!
Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures.
Regards,
Alan

Alan,
You must be of a "certain" age to recognize a Nash Metropolitan .
Hi Paul,
In 1961 I looked at an MG TF, a Metro, and a 55 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible. I bought the 55 because it was the cheapest ($525). Proved to be a good choice.
Regards,
Alan
I still remember the 'swoop' on that TF's front fenders, and the way the headlights 'nestled' in place!

I wish I still had my 1962 MGA Mark II. Last of the breed before the MGB. But I was very young and drove it in Canada's winter (when it would start) and it just basically rusted away. I miss that little (true) roadster with side curtains (hint on definition of a roadster ).
Looks like it was a great day..thanks for posting the pictures.
My thanks. As stated I drove about 180 miles and that old L-48 just hummed with points and condensor: the old ignition way. OK, I did bring out the dwell meter several weeks back and do things up nicely but these old systems do work very well when set up.
I do have a Breakerless SE equipped distributor modded in the basement from last winter to try to modernize but darn I have concluded for what purpose?
