did the garden hose test and it's coming in the upper fresh air vent on both side, the one with the half shield.
there is also water coming in the bottom edge of where the heater core is, but I had one loose nut and one missing nut, so I'm assuming once they are tightened down, that issue will go away.
How do I keep water from coming in the fresh air vents?
I bought new seals for around the base of the windshield, at the corner. Based on the hose testing, it looks like it's coming in around where the seam is.
Since I live in Canada, it's a little "brisk" right now, so I'm waiting for warmer weather to continue
On mine there was a small gap where the top corner of the window glass met the roof and the windshield, when it rained hard, the water would run down the door frame and under the carpet so it took a while to diagnose. But since I got the glass adjusted, no problem.
Take the kick panel off, then the vent door, reach inside this area and flush the area out with a hose. I found years of road debris, old match books and other stuff in there, once it was cleared the water flows through the frame as it was designed to the ground.
Old thread, but I'll post what I found on my '73 with similar symptoms. Took a bit to find since my fender drains were nice and clear. The sealer around the shrouded ball vent inlet was cracked. Put some ultra black RTV on it, no more leaky
In my '76 there were cracks in the cowl area under the wipers. The coating there had cracked and the body seam was allowing water in. It would drip down onto the gauges and then the floorboard.
I removed the old and put down new and the problem is solved. Check the areas mentioned above too though.
