Purchased this off of a forum member and was wondering what you may think the casting numbers might indicate.Casting#'s W1425 on the ball of housing and the letters "BF" on the neck and the letter "A" below that, also on the neck?

Thanks Mike......thats not what I wanted to hear but its best I know now before putting it to use on my 71. I'll throw it on the-bay and keep my eyes peeled for a 1971 casting. JMS71VETTE

I assumed that from what I've seen on application's for the p/n 3877660 that it was used for high perf.engines i.e. LT1's,SS Camaros/Chevelles.I'm still looking for the correct p/n for my 350/270 hp,4spd Corvette or would the 3877660 be acceptable for my car.(?)

Hi JM,
I believe that the 660 water neck would be a good choice for your 350/270.
There may be a bit of discussion about the number of recesses in the base, and whether 1 of the mounting bolts should be a stud.
Regards,
Alan

I believe a stud was installed behind the steering wheel at delivery if the car didn't come with one.
