Geez...replace a $40 part because it 'looks' yucky? Remove it from the firewall; pry the cover tangs up; take the cover off and clean it; use a brass wire brush to shine up the metal cover; shoot a bit of Dupli-color "clear" engine enamel on it to keep it looking good; replace cover; reinstall in car. Cost: about 25 cents (for the paint) and some elbow grease. Whatever happened to DIY???

I appreciate the help Rob . I have done that but not for a while. For what its worth I did the same thing (buffed and painted) to my horn relay. It comes out sort of pewter looking.

Not only would I also buy a new one, but I wouldn't apologize to anyone for doing it.
