Went to Wally world this morning and came out to this.
No note, nothing. Got a hold of security and he and the police checked tapes. Of course, I couldn't go in the security room but the police will let me know if they see anything.
And then later in the day I needed to go out again. But before I left I decided to check underneath for something I've felt the last couple of days and found this:
Sorry to hear about your damage. That really makes me mad that nowadays people wont man up to their wrongs. they probably did not have insurance. A couple of years ago in Home Depot someone almost tore the rear bumper cover off of my Monte Carlo SS and never stopped.
From: I'd like to propose a toast... to internal combustion and wind in the face.
Man, what a real bummer! Wouldn't it be nice to get your fingers around the throat of the low-life that did this? It's not just the damage, it's the irresponsibility of the whole thing. I don't mean to get you all fired up, it's just this kind of thing would eat me alive.
I have a personal policy that states I will never park my '72 unattended in a public parking lot. Never. But alas, just last Saturday I broke my own policy. After a car show me, my wife and some friends went out to eat and I was forced to park outside the restaurant. I made sure I got and end parking space next to landscaped island and my friend parked his suv next to me. After all of that I still demanded to sit where I could see my car. One thing I had going for me was this restaurant was quite nice without the typical dangers found at Walmartesque environments. Call me **** if you like.
Mudbone, that isn't ****. I live in a small town of rural Oklahoma, population 5,000 during the summer when college is out and about 8,000 during the school year. There are tons of "mommy and daddy buy me everything I want" freshman running around my very small town who don't know the value of something like this.
Procketus, sorry to hear about your car. I had the exact same thing happen to my wife's car about a year ago to the back end of my wife's car right over the fender behind the door. Fortunately, the door still opens and closes, but the guy drove off and Wal-Mart was no help. I even knew the guy that hit me by his pickup. The police wouldn't do anything because I didn't have proof and wasn't there when it happened.
I hope you find out who did it. that is just not right. I mean hey any one can have an accident and it is understandable but to hit a car and leave the scene........ wow what an A$$
Holy crap...now that would **** me right the F*&#@ off.
Wow...brother I hope they catch that low life.
Where else...other than Wall Mart would some looser think nothing of doing damage like that and driving off without a care in the world.
Makes me wonder if they were on a fricken cell phone and didn't even realize they did it.
That simply infuriates me...I so feel your pain!
I even knew the guy that hit me by his pickup. The police wouldn't do anything because I didn't have proof and wasn't there when it happened.
Man! I generally don't believe in payback vandalism because it's always the second guy who gets caught. But in the case you describe, I'd have an awful hard time following my own rule!
You are telling me, especially when it is a very small community. I didn't even get the HUGE dent fixed because my deductible on that car was $500 and the total cost to fix the place where he hit was around $700. The car's Blue book value was only $1500, so I left it.
That car became my "door dinger" car.
I agree that payback and vandalism won't un-dent the car, but It sure makes it a lot easier to tolerate parking next to that pick up outside of the grocery store and slamming my door into his.
The truck is so beat up he doesn't notice, but it makes me feel a little better.
Wal Mart security cameras do not catch everything that happens in their parking lot. My husband was driving our 2005 Buick Rainier SUV and when he left the store he noticed the back bumper was damaged.
I happen to work at this WM and of course know security people personally. Security watched the video and actually watched my husband park the Buick, walk into the store, get back into the Buick and drive to a gas station which is at the end of the WM parking lot.
The cameras did not pick up and views of the bumper being hit. I was told that a license plate is usually not ever clear enough to be read in the videos which are reviewed.
Procketus, I am sorry your Vette was hit. I definately feel your pain!
BTW, What are those two items you show in the second photo you posted?
WM's main video purpose is to catch shoplifters and believe me when I say these cameras are very high tech.
Hey...........what the heck is Wally World ?
are we missing something up here in the North East ?
Your not missing anything
Referring to the image above...does not surprise me in the least. Last summer the family was having a GTG at a theme park. One of my sisters was late...and as she came through the parking lot, she saw someone hit my cousins car. This person got out of her car and was putting a note on my cousins car (my sister, and everyone else thought..supplying particulars ect). Once my Cousin got word...she went out to her car to see what happend...and of course collect the note. She was fuming once she returned.... The note read: Sorry! Muddy
