Sorry about your Fri.13th damage...
I hope the culprit is found, so the bill can be payed...

This is another example why I do not leave my vette in a parking lot.

You are the only one who cares about your stuff ... so you have to be the one to protect it.

Best of luck

I have a personal policy that states I will never park my '72 unattended in a public parking lot. Never. But alas, just last Saturday I broke my own policy. After a car show me, my wife and some friends went out to eat and I was forced to park outside the restaurant. I made sure I got and end parking space next to landscaped island and my friend parked his suv next to me. After all of that I still demanded to sit where I could see my car. One thing I had going for me was this restaurant was quite nice without the typical dangers found at Walmartesque environments. Call me **** if you like.
I am with you here, I have put way too much time and effort into my Vette for some careless idiot to do a quick hit-and-run on it.

Here in Louisiana if you think you know who hit you, the insurance company will send someone to check the vehicle for proof. Someone had my daughters car checked by State Farm, they claimed she hit the back of their car, they took measurements and found her innocent.

BTW, What are those two items you show in the second photo you posted?
Yep that's what's left of the left rear shock. Got new ones on today. Rides much better.
I am not counting on Wallyworld to come up with anything. Even the security said half the cameras were not working. But he did say he knew which ones to look at, so maybe he'll see it.

My car is not the greatest looking, needs a paint job badly, well, even moreso now, but like some mentioned it was the whole point of not even leaving a note.

I did get out there this morning and was able to push out 90% of the damage. Need a heat gun to get the rest straightened out. It did not get any of the fiberglass or the lights, just the bumper cover.

Got the police report today. The security camera shows a midsize pickup pulling up, a couple get out, they come back at 10:43 a.m. and turn right, AGAINST THE DIRECTIONAL ARROWS and flow of traffic. But, can't get a good view of the plate number.

Oh come on, don't let them give you THAT baloney! You see it on TV all the time, some tootsie with wacky hair at the CSI lab looks at the screen, types a couple keys, and BINGO! there's your plate, clear as day, and close-up of the perp's faces as well! They should already be in jail by this time!

That's the same thing I was thinking.

Railroadman, where is that picture taken in your avatar? We're originally from Rochester and I can't place those falls.

Ok that being said I took my 77 to the race track when I came out someone had spit A big Chaw on the back deck.(white car)"ARGGG"
AND THE LESSON:

I NEVER TOOK IT TO A PARKING LOT OF ANY TYPE AFTER THAT.
THIS IS A LESSON WE ALL NEED TO LEARN .
TAKE THE PIECE OF SHIZZLE(honda, vw, toyota) TO WALLY-WORLD.
We should do an under cover sting leave A Vette in A parking watch and see how long it takes for someone or something to hit it .then bust em right on the spot.

Letchworth State Park. Can't remember which Falls it was, Upper, Middle or Lower. A beautiful place for a Vette ride, altho traffic and enforcement prevent the type of driving a Corvette would like.

Imagine what foreigners think of Americans when they see People of Walmart! It's unbelievable people actually go out in public that way!
BTW-sorry to see what the 13th brought you. Looks like it's just the bumper and no glass damage.
Hope they got the tapes with the guilty party.

All I needed to see was "I took my car to Wal-Mart" and you know it can't be good.

see if you can get the video and get a few screen shots of the vehicle .... more than likely they probably visit that location and you can check the truck... just saying
