Default Tach Gear

70 vert - When car is "cold" tach works fine, as car warms up after driving for a few miles, tach will bounce and sometimes stop working all together (and then work again on its own)

So first question would be your diagnosis, and if the gear in the tach does need to be replaced, some kind of step by step would be appreciated

Thanks !

Think this has been covered many times. check the driven gear the one that drives the cable to the tack if worn or messed up theeth then it and the shaft of the dist needs replacing. if you check the search function you should find your answer.

It does get somewhat tiring answering these questions.

Just a guess but I'm leaning towards a bad tach head. When the tach drive gears go they usually don't come and go long.
