I have a metallic Mahogany '81.
The interior color is Camel...and I do like Camel.
However I saw this '68 interior in "Tobaco" and I fell in love.
Do you think this color is "too much" brown for my '81?
My wife doesn't like it...she say's it's too brown.
I think it would look excellent.
Keep the camel color on the lower dash pads, seats, door panels, etc, etc, and dye everything above Tobacco (including the very top of the door panels).
Something along the lines of how many new cars are done.
yeah, 2-tone may look cool. i suggest using the dyes too. will help keep cost down a lot. i went from brown to '75 oxblood in my '76 and used dyes and it turned out nice. one thing i did have a prob with is if you spray the dye or the clear for it when it is humid, it will blush real bad. may be use a retarder in it to slow drying. assuming you have a spray gun...
No...I don't have a spray gun and I've never died interior parts before.
I'll have to think about that.
Someone on another thread said the tobacco color is extremely difficult to locate, but I sure think it's beautiful.
Sorry. I agree with the wife. Dark brown/dark brown is too 'dreary' for me. "Rich" looking...maybe. Attractive....not in my book. I'm assuming that you have vinyl seats/interior. If so, clean the seatcovers and panels well, give all a coating of Nu-Vinyl, and enjoy what that car looked like when new.
I love your color scheme...in fact I have a picture of your C3 on my screensaver. Beautiful job on the restoration.
I also had my eye on your sidepipes...lol
I appreciate your input everyone....for and against.

Completely agree. The camel will set off that paint color and you wont take the value hit by adding a wrong interior. I think that color combo would be very difficult to sell, too.

Yea...I know what you mean...and it's not like I don't like the camel color. I appreciate your feedback.
