I am wondering if others have had the same problem. I bought a new window rebuild kit that has new front and back rollers.
The new front roller is very hard to move by hand. I have to put the threaded shaft into a vise in order to rotate the roller. I called Willcox and they state that is normal - that it doesn't roll in the channel - it glides in the channel.
My old one rolls easily. What gives?
New ones should be very tight. With age and use, your rollers have worn and loosed up, which is what causes the window to get sloppy and loose in the door.
Usually you can turn the one on the square slider by hand, because you can get a good grip on the square part, but the one on the threaded stud is almost impossible to turn while holding it, when they're new.
