72 small block ...mpg ??
I have a 56,000 mile stock....original small block....200 hp.
Runs as good as it should....no fumes....gets 13 mpg around town.
Is that about right ?? I would have hoped for better.

You're right on with 13 mpg around town. I have a "72 with base 350 and 4 speed, 59,000 miles. I get the same and I have a Holley Double pumper too. You can do better if you keep your foot out of it, but then that's no fun at all.

I have a 70's LT1.
It was getting 10mpg with it sitting for 10 years and nobody touching it.
I just did a new distributor and tune and it's running a LOT better but haven't gotten the mpg yet. Carb rebuild is next as there's still a studder in the system somewhere that if fixed i'm sure will help mpg some.
and that 10 mpg is with my osmium(heavier than lead) foot
